Events are designed for in-person and virtual meetings, while Services are designed for live streaming
What is a SyncWords Service?
A SyncWords Service is a cloud-based live streaming transcription and translation pipeline specifically designed for professional broadcast and OTT workflows. Each Service instance represents a dedicated live streaming channel that can process real-time audio and video feeds using streaming protocols such as SRT, RTMP, HLS, or CMAF-Ingest.
Built to be scalable and interoperable, SyncWords Services integrate seamlessly with industry-standard streaming tools and platforms including AWS Elemental MediaLive, MediaPackage, CloudFront, OBS, Wirecast, vMix, and platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, Dacast, IVS, and Castr. SyncWords Services also support advanced SRT transport workflows using providers such as Zixi, Haivision, TVU, Amagi, and EZTools.
Key Features of a SyncWords Service
- Real-Time AI Transcription & Translation: Each Service can transcribe live speech and translate it into 100+ languages using advanced GenAI models, including integrations with Amazon Bedrock (e.g., NOVA).
- Voice Dubbing and Multilingual Output: AI-generated voice translation (dubbing) is supported for selected target languages, delivering audio streams in sync with original speech.
- MPEG Transport Stream (TS) Engine – Kobe Muxer: At the core of every Service is the Kobe Muxer, a proprietary low-latency MPEG .TS framework that ensures fast, reliable, and standards-compliant insertion of subtitles, translations, and voice dubbing into live video.
- Sign Language Output (Coming 2025): SyncWords Services are being enhanced to support automated sign language avatars rendered from GenAI engines. These will output in SRT format to accompany live streams, making them more inclusive and accessible.
- REST API & Automation: SyncWords Services can be launched, managed, and scaled programmatically via the SyncWords REST API, enabling automation of multiple concurrent live channels for large-scale events or 24/7 broadcasts.
How Services Differ from SyncWords Events
Events: Designed for in-person and virtual meetings, the Events platform outputs HTML-based live subtitles accessible via QR codes, and integrates directly with platforms like Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx, RingCentral, and CVENT.
Services: Designed for live streaming, each Service handles high-throughput video/audio workflows using professional broadcast protocols. It supports integration into end-to-end media pipelines for OTT, linear broadcast, and hybrid delivery models.
