Transcript syntax for speaker labels, cues, and tokens

When you provide a transcript for a project, SyncWords will automatically identify speaker labels and cues, based on conventions commonly used in various transcript formats. For example, a bracketed term like

[ Laughter ]

would be identified as a sound cue.

You can include syntax in your transcript to force SyncWords to identify any text as a speaker label, sound cue, tone cue, or token.

Speaker Label
Metadata describing who is speaking or indicating a change in speaker.

SL<<text>>

Sound Cue
Non-speech audio cue which is timed to the media.

SFX<<text>>

Tone Cue
Cue describing the tone of speech which is not timed to the media.

TONE<<text>>

Token
Any group of words you want to force the system to treat as one unit for timing and caption output purposes.

TOKEN<<text>>

Example -

SL<<Game Show Host:>> Define the word TONE<<(enunciating slowly)>> verisimilitude.
SL<<Contestant:>> Believability. As in - the verisimilitude of the TOKEN<<optical illusion>> was questionable.
SFX<<[Applause]>>
